RSS, School Text and the Murder of Mahatma Gandhi: The Hindu Communal Project
It is a book on the distortion of historical facts by communal force projected by Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS). This year the RSS organisation was categorised as a terrorist organisation by America. The book is written by Aditya Mukherjee, Mridula Mukherjee, and Sucheta Mahajan. The authors are professors at JNU of History subject. It is a foreword by historian Bipin Chandra, a famous historian in India. This book is beneficial to understand the nature of RSS, a communalist organisation. Every Indian should read such books, and people interested in Indian politics may read this book to have a quick review of this organisation. This 94-page book is written for youngsters to thwart the transmission and proliferate communal ideas.
The is divided into three parts, school education, Gandhi's assassination, and the Communal project of RSS. The first part, after a brief introduction of the book by Bipin Chandra, describes the schools that are leading the ideas of extreme and radical Hindus have hares and negative effects on the upcoming generation. How BJP (Bharatiya Janata Party, a political party based on the idea of RSS) changed the texts of social science books in Schools? The second chapter deals with the conspiracy of Gandhi's murder by an RSS follower and the idea which arose aggregation against Gandhi. It also focuses on Jawaharlal Nehru and Sardar Patel, and why they allowed capital punishment to Nathuram Godse. The third part discussed the nature of RSS and its mentality towards Muslims and other non-Hindus. This also criticises the idea of radical nationalism propounded by RSS founders. The author warns society that it is being communalised. However, the author willingly discards to demonstrate the main purpose of RSS. The ideology of RSS is, beyond doubt, communal. But, the arguments marked are based on mere suspicion even the allegation on Savarkar (RSS founder) is suspicious. The author claims that there is a crystal clear relationship between RSS and Nathuram Godse. He presents some evidence to prove the connection between both. Though, for a moment, we may presume that accusations that the existence of a relation between RSS and Nathuram is crystal clear, the law cannot punish Savarkar for having a relationship with RSS. The law can not punish any RSS worker unless the fact is proved that Savarkar and Godse have common intentions and he instigated Godse. Law and court do not work in presumption but on the facts and evidence. The writer failed to highlight the legal issues in the case of Gandhi's murder by Nathuram Godse.
